It's Part of Our Deal - 11x17 Newspaper Negative by Tom Engelhardt

'It's part of our deal with Franco - he wants it melted down for police bullets'

This is the original newspaper negative by political cartoonist Tom Engelhardt featuring the cartoon printed in The St. Louis Post-Dispatch on October 15, 1975.  In the cartoon, a man is carrying the Liberty Bell.  He has a paper that has 'U.S. Bases in Spain' on it in his pocket and he is telling a shocked man, 'It's part of our deal with Franco - he wants it melted down for police bullets.'  This is a one of a kind item and the proceeds help benefit The State Historical Society of Missouri's Engelhardt Cartoon Collection.
