Would You Buy - 11x17 Newspaper Negative by Tom Engelhardt
'Would you buy a used congressman from him?'
This is the original newspaper negative by political cartoonist Tom Engelhardt featuring the cartoon printed in The St. Louis Post-Dispatch on May 20, 1982. In the cartoon, a man talks to another man as they walk past a tycoon-looking man with an 'Auto Dealers' button. Beside him sits men at desks with signs reading 'Handles Real Good!!', 'Only Driven By A Little Old Lobby On Election Days', 'Easy To Drive' and 'A Real Cream Puff'. This is a one of a kind item and the proceeds help benefit The State Historical Society of Missouri's Engelhardt Cartoon Collection.
