About the Author
Goose Garland is an illustrator and writer raised on a corn and soybean farm in Iowa. Her father, a Navy veteran of 21 years, was a major influence in her life, always stressing the importance of spending time with grandparents, faith in God and love of America. Growing up in a mixed family, Goose moved to Missouri in her 20s and fell in love with Columbia, a town rich in nature, education and vibrant cultures. Goose met the gander of her life, made a nest and returned to her love of drawing in her 40s.
