About the Author

Joel P. Rhodes is the Executive Director at The State Historical Society of Missouri. He co-authored Historic Cape Girardeau: An Illustrated History and co-produces the Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival. He lives in Cape Girardeau with his wife Jeanie and their three children, Alex, Olivia, and Ella.
